BKVS Sports Day, Paraspara Souharda Nidhi & KVWT Meeting Update

To all community members,
It was a day of rejoicing for the community members of Bengaluru on 25th December 2017.  As part of celebrations of Magha Shuddha Pratipade’ it is the age-old practice of Bengaluru Kannada Vaishya Sangha (BKVS) to host sports activities to the community people of all age groups. On this day at Sri Shankara Sannidhi, it was worth watching, tiny-tots to grownups taking part in the games with high competitive spirit and joy. To exhibit their talent, there were Mehendi, Keshalankara, Rangoli, and cooking of Carrot halwa- Akki kodbale competitions for ladies monitored by Sports committee members. Judges of the ‘Sweet-Khara competition’ were Smt Veen R.Devadhar and Smt Malini M Shetti. There was drawing competition for children of LKG to 4th standard.

At 12.00 noon 24th Annual General Body meeting of “Paraspara Souharda Nidhi” started. The Sanchalaka of “Paraspara Souharda Nidhi”, Shri Shankar V. Gokarn monitored the proceedings of the Annual General Body Meeting by welcoming the dignitaries, members of “Paraspara Souharda Nidhi” and community people.  He highlighted the activities of “Paraspara Souharda Nidhi”to the members and about the plans of celebrating “Silver jubilee year celebrations” in 2018 and obtained their approval. Smt Sharada N. Shetti, Sanchalaki read out the notice of General Body Meeting and nadavali of 23rd Annual General Body Meeting. Shri Nagesh G.Shetti, another Sanchalaka, read out the minutes of last General Body Meeting and also the contents of Accounts statements of the year 2016-17. Persons to lead the Paraspara Souharda Nidhi in coming years was discussed at length.After speeches by few dignitaries and vote of thanks by Sri Manjunath P.Shetti, the meeting concluded.
At 1.30 pm members were served with delicious lunch under the joint sponsorship of BKVS and Paraspara Souharda Nidhi. Some sports events were continued till 3.00 pm.

At 4.00 pm, there was yet another meeting for community people. ” Kannada Vaishya Welfare Trust” a voluntary organisation of our community had visited Bengaluru to highlight their objectives, goal, future activities and also to seek the all-round support of Bengaluru fraternity in their welfare activities. Mr.Manjunath P. Shetti Vice President BKVS welcomed the Trust office bearers and the community people.Shri Arun S. Bandikatte, Hon.Secretary of BKVS offered flower Buckeyes and Shri Madhukar M. Kanjan, Shri V D. Kasbekar, and Shri Dinakar R. Shetti offered shawls to the Trust office bearers. Dr. Shridhar N. Shetti, founder president of the Trust, Sri Gajanana M.Nagarkatte Hon. Secretary, Sri Deepak M. Shetti, Sri Rajendra M. Shetti, Sri Mohan S. Shetti and Sri Girish M. Gokarn, trustees, spoke at length. The objectives of the trust is to help the deserving students of our community financially, for their higher studies, to conduct career guidance workshops, to conduct community census, matrimonial counseling to conduct health camps and to play a prominent role in the all-round development of our community etc. etc.
Bengaluru Kannada Vaishya Sangha president Sri Dinakar R. Shetti and Mytreyi Vanitha Samaja President Smt. Sumitra M. Kanjan were also there on the Dias. Sri Dinakar R. Shetti, in his address, called upon our community people, youth, in particular, to extend their support to Kannada Vaishya Welfare Trust in their endeavor both physically and financially.Both Sri Dinakar R. Shetti and Sri Arun S. Bandikatte as representatives of BKVS were honored by Dr.Shridhar N. Shetti, President of Kannada Vaishya Welfare Trust.
All the speakers of the Trust called upon the Bengaluru fraternity to extend all-round support to the Trust in achieving the goal, financially and physically. Smt. & Sri Manjunath P. Shetti handed over the cheque of Rs.25,000 to Trust president as membership contribution. Smt.& Shri Sanjeev D. Vakil paid Rs 25,000 as membership contribution. Smt. & Sri Raghuveer N. Shinganamakki paid Rs 10,000 as a donation.Smt. & Sri Madhukar M. Kanjan promised Rs 25,000, Smt. & Sri Venkataramana D.Kasbekar and brothers promised Rs 25,000 towards membership contribution. Shri Manjunath P.  Shetti compered the proceedings of the meeting.
After the meeting, there was ” Adarsha Dampathigalu” competition. As many as 30 couples participated in the event. The day’s proceedings came to an end with a ” High Tea” and people dispersed to their homes.
