Magha Shuddha Pratipade 2018

At the outset hearty congratulations to all our community members on the occasion of Magha Shuddha Pratipade 2018. As we all know our community members are devoted to Shri Sharada Peetham of Sringeri and to Shri Shri Jagadguru Mahaswamigal, for more than 60 years. As a recognition of the devotion to the Sharada Peetham and to Shri Shri Jagadgurus of Sringeri, the then Jagadguru Mahaswamigal Brahmaikya Shrimad Abhinava Vidyatheertha Mahaswamiji blessed our community with an auspicious day i.e Magha Shuddha Pratipade, also recognised and blessed our community as his “Parama Shishyas” and gave a call to celebrate this day with Adhyathmic activities, bhajans, cultural and social activities.

Since then we have been celebrating this day as “Magha Shuddha Pratipade” as the most auspicious day to entire community. As usual this year also Bengaluru Kannada Vyshya Sangha and all community members celebrated “Magha Shuddha Pratipade” on 18th January 2018. Magha Shuddha Pratipade day programmes started at 8.30 am at our prestigious community hall “Shri Shankara Sannidhi”. Mytreyi Vanitha Samaja members chanted Lalitha Sahasranama Stotram. Veda Vidwan Shri Vinayaka Sharma performed Pooja sankalpa on behalf of Shri Sathyanarayana Pooja sevakarthas including the family of Shri Gajanana M Shetti and other members of Pooja sankalpa seva. Simultaneously there was Shri Shankaracharya Ashtottara Shatanama parayana by Mytreyi Vanitha Samaja members under the banner of “Shri Sharada Shankara Bhaktha Mandali.

Under the “Shashwata Annadana Nidhi” programme this year’s sevakarthas were Smt.&Shri Vasanth G Shetti Bellad, Smt.&Shri Gajanana M. Shetti, Smt.&Shri Dinakar R.Shetti, Smt. & Shri Venkataramana D. Kasbekar and Brothers, Smt.& Shri Arun Madhukar Shetti, Smt Jyothi Harwadekar/ Smt Vidya U. Harwadekar, Smt.& Shri Ravindranath K.Algeri, Smt.&Shri Ramakrishna N Shetti and Smt.& Shri Jagadish N. Shetti.
Shri Sathyanarayana, Shri Sathya Ganapathi Pooja was performed with devotion, under the Pourohithya of Veda Vidwan Shri Vinayaka Sharma. Shri Venkataramana D. Kasbekar recited the “Birudavali” of Shri Sringeri Jagadgurus. He also read out the Ashirwada Sandesha of  Ubhaya Jagadgurus. It was also mentioned that Ubhaya Jagadgurus expressed their happiness over Shri Shankaracharya Ashtottara Shatanama parayana by Mytreyi Vanitha Samaja members. As part of Magha Shuddha Pratipade celebrations, there was “Satsang” by Poojya Swamini Sampannanda.
After Sathyanarayana Pooja katha Shravana, there was felicitation to those who have completed 60 years of age. Poojya Swamini Sampannananda felicitated them by offering shawls and fruit baskets. Members felicitated on behalf of Bengaluru Kannada Vyshya Sangha on the occasion were Smt.& Shri Ravindranath K. Algeri, Smt.& Shri Shankar V. Gokarn, Smt.& Shri Prakash S. Shetti, Smt.& Shri Sheshagiri V. Shetti, Smt.& Shri S K. Raviray, Smt.& Shri Nagesh N. Shetti, Smt.& Shri Vasanth Sadashiva Shetti and Smt.& Shri Ullas S. Prasad, followed by felicitation of Sathyanarayana Pooja Sevakarthas.

Immediately after that there was Mahamangalarathi followed by Prarthane, Guru Vandane and Theertha Prasada distribution. Arishina kunkuma with Ellu Bella was offered to ladies by Smt. Usha Gajanana Shetti. People offered prayers standing in the que and proceeded to have delicious lunch.
Afternoon programmes started with S.L.S. Vidyanidhi parithoshaka vitharane and followed by Prathibha Puraskara under the sponsorship of Shri Madhukar M. Kanjan (In memory of late Shri Keshav M. Shetti.), Prof. Shri Jayaram N. Shetti, and Shri Vasanth G. Shetti, Bellad. ( In memory of Mathoshri ).This year’s Parithoshaka and Prathibha Puraskara winners are Kum. Sneha Vinayak Todurkar, Kum. Adhishreya Pradeep, Kum. Akshata E. Nagarkatte, Kum. Sajana N.S, Kum. Sushma G, Kumar Arjun B. Devadhar, Kumar Charan Prakash Shetti, Kum. Neha S.Shetti, Kum. Sowmya Shalmali, Kum. Aishwarya Arun Shetti, Kumar Gourav R. This year there was a special prize to PUC pass students of 2017( One each to a boy & and a girl, to be decided by lot ), in the form of Lenovo Laptop, Sponsored by Shri Uday V. Gokarn,who is settled in USA, on the eve of his father Shri Vasanth G. Shetti. Bellad completing 80 years of age. The lucky winners were Master Arjun Balachandra Devadhar. and Kumari Akshata E. Nagarkatte.

Master Atreya R. Todur, who won a bronze medal in an international Taekwondo championship held in Itary stadium, Sansari District of Nepal, was honored along with his parents Shri Raghavendra R. Todur, Smt. Rajashri R. Todur, grandparents Shri Anandu N. Shetti. and Smt. Geetha. Master Atreya brought laurels to his family and Bengaluru Kanada Vyshya Samaja with his extraordinary achievement.
Next was entertainment programme of small children performing dance, singing songs and chanting shlokas. Few elder ladies sang songs to entertain the crowd. Also there was “Adarsha Dampathigalu” finale. Finally, with prize distribution to sports events winners and cultural programme participants, curtain was drawn to day’s programmes.
Day’s programmes were compered by Manjunath P. Shetti.
